Cuffed Trousers from Thom Browne: Things I Have

As part of my shopping spree last weekend I found these cuffed trousers from Thom Browne. I had to try on a few different sizes to find the right one, but once I did... I couldn't say no!

The cut was slim, I liked the flat front, and the extra large cuff was really the selling point. I think these will be a great addition for Spring/Summer days at the office.

Here's more info on them from the Barney's site...

Sports Coat from Shipley & Halmos: Things I Have

I am always on the lookout for a good sports coat, they've become such a staple in my wardrobe. Yesterday I found this one from Shipley & Halmos -- and I liked the light color, which will be perfect for Spring/Summer, but which I can also pair with darker colors going into Fall.

As with everything Shipley does, the coat fit me perfectly and I snatched it up! I'm excited to wear it with a white shirt and jeans, and my favorite Gucci loafers.

You can check it out on the Barney's website...

Sunglasses from Super: Things I Want

Always on the hunt for new sunnies, and was really drawn to these from the summer '11 collection of Super. Based in Italy, Super has been doing some great frames the past few seasons...

I really liked the dual tone on these, black on top and the shell color on the bottom. It also comes in a version with a brown tortoise on the top, but I think the black ones are my favorite.

Summer is coming, time to start thinking about updating your eyewear! Go to the Super site, or read more via Hypebeast.

Gucci Loafers: Things I Want

I know I've told this story before... but I have a pair of Gucci loafers that I bought at their store in Copenhagen. 8 years ago. Yes, these shoes have been with me all over the world and I love them. Whenever I take them in to be cleaned or re-soled, Sam (my shoe repair guru) tells me that one day he won't be able to fix them up... and I tell him I know.

So in preparation for that day, I think I'll take these gorgeous loafers from the Spring '11 collection. They're very similar to the ones I have, with the horse bit and a very simple design.

I love that these shoes have such simplicity yet are so stunning... they are definitely ones I want to add to my closet. Just don't tell my other shoes that they'll have to squeeze.

Go to Hypebeast to see these and other accessories for Spring.

Sportswatch from Nike: Things I Want

This may be a slight departure from my fashion-focused 'wants' but I loved the design of this watch from Nike. I am a fan of large rubber watches (I have a growing collection...) and I thought the huge display on this one was really cool.

The watch was done with TomTom (the GPS company) so you can accurately track your distance and route while running. I'm not a big runner... but hey, you never know.

Mensthreads Fashion Collage by JustJr: Things I Love

A while I ago I came across a site that was doing brilliant fashion collages. I shared it with some of our designers at work, who were also awed and inspired by the creativity + connectivity of these pieces.

Well recently JustJr did a collage inspired by this blog, mensthreads! I can't even describe what an honor it is, to be referenced in this way by someone whose work you admire....

And Jamie at JustJr knows me so well because he included Nick Wooster, a bowtie, some Black Fleece (hi Thom Browne!), and a nod to France. I love it!

You have to check out the rest of his work here.

Dress Shirt from Hugh and Crye: Things I Have

I arrived home tonight to a package on the front porch... my new shirt from Hugh & Crye! I'm always searching for well made shirts that fit well, especially with slim tailoring so it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a parachute.

I had ordered the Washington, D.C. based brand's rounded collar in the color "Lil League Gum" which I thought would sneak right into my Spring/Summer wardrobe.

Needless to say the shirt fit perfectly (I went with their Tall/Lean sizing) and I can't wait to wash it and wear it. Here's a promo shot of the shirt from their website...

I definitely suggest you check out all of their styles and consider picking up one for yourself. And from now until the end of May, you can enter code "mensthreadsVIP" for a $25 discount! What are you waiting for...

Billy Reid Seersucker Shorts: Things I Want

I always feel like I never have enough shorts... so I am currently on the hunt for a pair of seersucker and some brown khaki shorts.

Yesterday I did some shopping at Bloomingdale's (who has, IMHO, one of the best men's departments right now) and tried on these seersucker shorts from Billy Reid.

They are fantastic! Great fit, and a very wide waist/beltline, which I really liked. They also are very lightweight (as seersucker should be) and I know they'll be cool for summer.

Since the focus of yesterday's shopping was for my friend, and not me, I left these shorts behind... but want to go back and snatch 'em up!

Red Sperry Boat Shoes: Things I Have

Today I went with my friend Carlo to do a little shopping... well it was me helping him pick out some basics for his closet. But I ended up (of course) getting a few things for myself.

Stopped by the Sperry Topsider store and tried on these red two-eye boat shoes, and the yellow nylon style from Band of Outsiders.

They were both great, but I went with the classic... super comfortable, treated with salt water so they're already a bit worn, I am super excited to wear these this summer!

You can get a better look at the Sperry website!

Vanishing Elephant S/S '11 Collection: Things I Love

Since I discovered Australian label Vanishing Elephant, on a recent trip to Sydney, I've been keeping watch of their work. I love the pieces I bought, and definitely want to get some more.

They've just released a lookbook for F/W '11 (which would be Australia's S/S '11) that has a lot of great looks! First to catch my eye was the brocade dinner jacket -- which I could easily pair with existing pieces from my closet for a great vintage and dressed up look.

I also really like that they're not afraid of pattern or color, or the mixing of these. The tailored suiting, or the red polka dot shorts are just a few more pieces that I was drawn to from the collection.

Hypebeast has some more photos and you can also check out the Vanishing Elephant site for more info + stockists.

Anti-Aging Moisturizer from Skeen: Things I Have

While in Paris, I was able to stop by a favorite shop of mine... skincare brand Skeen. Launched in 2006, I discovered their shop in the Marais a few years ago and tried out a number of their products.

The anti-aging masque and eye gel are favorites, but since I'm currently well stocked on both of those, I decided to try a new product.

I've been looking for a nighttime moisturizer, and their anti-aging version seemed like a good bet. Tried it out last night for the first time + was happy with how my skin felt this morning!

Go to the Skeen site to learn more... and while the brand was launched with men in mind, a lot of women are now fans, so it's really a unisex offering.

Sneakers from Veja: Things I Want

While walking through the 10eme this week, next to Canal St. Martin, I came across a great shop carrying men's and women's items, called Centre Commercial. Was drawn to some shoes they had in the window, and discovered a well selected set of apparel and accessories from a variety of European designers.

Those shoes that had caught my eye were the new Mediterranee model from French label Veja. I really liked the simple two-toned design, thinking this would be a great item for Summer. After speaking with the staff, I learned that all of Veja's shoes are produced in Brazil.

With a digestible price point (60 EUR), these are a great add to your closet. Check out more information on the Veja site.
